It can be difficult decision when choosing where to visit on your travels. If you have a strong desire for fascinating history and culture, participating in beautiful outdoor activities and becoming immersed in fun loving local entertainment, then Hawaii could be the next place on your list to visit when considering a holiday in the USA.
Hawaii, the only state in the United States to be completely surrounded by water, is home to six main islands, including Kauai, Oahu, Molokai, Lanai, Maui and Hawaii\'s Big Island. Each island has something to offer to suit every visitor to the islands, maintaining their individual attractions whilst mixing up the experience in visiting Hawaii further more.
Hawaii has recently made news headlines with the eruption of the Kilauea Volcano, the youngest volcano on Hawaii\'s Big Island, with 70% of the surface being less than 600 years old. Kilauea is one of the most active volcanoes in the world and has been continuously erupting since 1983. The eruption has had no cause to affect tourism to Hawaii, with air quality remaining unaffected and no danger being caused to nearby residents; this impressive recent eruption can be viewed from a safe distance by tourists. Most recently the volcano caused a 40-feet high lava fountain, making this for interesting viewing for all scientists and tourists alike. There is a further array of historical volcanic culture to experience in Hawaii that should literally turn up the heat on your visit, particularly if you decide to take the time and visit the Volcanoes National Park.
A visit to Hawaii aims to provide a captivating island experience for all travellers, with opportunities including viewing the fascinating sea life whilst having fun with snorkelling on the beautiful Hanauma Bay on Ohau. If you wish to take a break from the activities, with many beautiful beaches surrounding Hawaii including its largest white sand beach Papakoku Beach Park in Molokai, this provides a brilliant opportunity to soak up the beautiful Hawaiian weather, and pursue those romantic late night strolls.
If outdoor activities are a particular interest, then admire the beautiful foliage with there no better place to do this than the island of Lanai on the dry land forest in Kanepuu Preserve. Also, be ready to have the camera constantly on standby when you visit Kauai the "Garden Isle", home to the Waimea Canyon, which is known as the "Grand Canyon of the Pacific" and full of beautiful scenery.
Although Hawaii is part of the United States, it is important - as with all holidays - to speak to your travel agent to discuss whether a visa, travel insurance or medications are necessary.
